American Airlines Flagship Charities held its first golf tournament in 1982. Since its inception, the event has raised $3.3 million for local children’s charities and has been fortunate to build a network of corporate, community and individual donors.
In 2009, four charities were selected to be the beneficiary of this tournament: Eisner Pediatric & Family Medical Center, Los Angeles® Ronald McDonald House, Something mAAgic® and Volunteer League of the San Fernando Valley - all worthy organizations helping to improve the lives of children in our community. In 2009 LARMH received over $60k from the tournament. Wilshire Country Club-September 20th. Log on to http://www.flagshipcharities.org .
Record Breaking Year for 10th Annual Walk for Kids!

On Sunday April 11th, over 2500 participants came together to raise funds and bring awareness to the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House (LARMH). This year 130 teams and over 20 sponsors raised over $300,000. For the first time ever, we were joined by our chapter office, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, and the Pasadena Ronald McDonald House at the Universal Studios Back Lot. Walkers enjoyed walking through a variety of Hollywood movie sets, frappes from McDonald’s, Powerade and Vitamin Water from Coke, pictures with Ronald McDonald, and a host of activities for children and families. None of this would have been possible without the support, participation, and commitment of our walkers, sponsors, and volunteers. Universal Studios proved to be a great location for everyone. This continues to be our largest annual fundraiser and allows us to continue to provide a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill children. We look forward to seeing you at next year’s Walk for Kids!
